Errol Longstride: On the Edge

On the Edge is an ongoing spoken-word series where I step away from fantasy and speak directly through poetry.

These are poems about growing up in Sheffield, mental health, identity, family, resilience, creativity, and the long, often unpredictable journey of finding your place in the world. Some are quiet reflections. Others are raw, rebellious and uncompromising.

As a punk poet, I’m not interested in polished perfection or following literary conventions. I’m interested in honesty. Every poem is performed as it was meant to be heard—with emotion, vulnerability and conviction.

These pieces sit on the edge between poetry and performance, memory and mythology, darkness and hope.

If you’re organising a literary festival, school visit, library event, arts venue, or spoken-word evening and would be interested in a live poetry reading or performance, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch with me to discuss bookings and events.

Welcome to On the Edge.
